IEEM gGmbH - Institute for Environmental Engineering and Management at the University of Witten/Herdecke combines the academic disciplines of "technology" (engineering) and "economics" into an applied science.
As an independent affiliated institute of the private University Witten/Herdecke, our projects are exclusively funded by third parties. Our work is therefore practice-oriented and business-oriented.
Further information about the IEEM can be found here
The IEEM's research projects are predominantly in the interdisciplinary field of economics and technology. The focus of the national and international projects is on the classical urban water management. A selection of publicly funded projects can be found here.
Commissioned by industry and donor banks, IEEM also carries out research projects for example in the fields of sewage sludge, industrial wastewater and biogas.
We publish our research results in a variety of scientific journals, in journals and present them at professional events. You can find an overview of our publications here.
